Alex Brown

Alex Brown

Alex is a founder and Managing Partner at NorthCurrent Partners, where he is focused on pursuing and executing new investment opportunities alongside driving growth and value creation among existing portfolio companies. Before launching NorthCurrent in 2019, Alex worked with a team of investors and entrepreneurs in his hometown in Central Florida where he structured growth-oriented investments in lower-middle market businesses across multiple industries.

Alex previously worked at Quad-C Management, a Charlottesville, Virginia-based private equity firm, where he executed multiple platform investments and drove value creation initiatives.

Alex began his career in the investment banking group at Stephens Inc. in New York, where he focused on M&A advisory work across multiple industries.

Alex earned a B.S. in Engineering Science and Economics from Vanderbilt University and an M.B.A. from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. Alex also oversees alternative investing for Five Lakes Capital, a family office, and serves on the board of select companies.

Buck Marshall

Managing Partner

Buck Marshall

Buck is a founder and Managing Partner at NorthCurrent Partners, where he is focused on pursuing new investment opportunities and supporting management teams post-investment to drive growth and value creation initiatives. Before launching NorthCurrent, Buck was a Vice President in the LBO Fund of H.I.G. Capital, an investment firm with over $50 billion under management, where Buck concentrated on business services and consumer investments and served on the board of Tastes on the Fly (acquired by the Lagardere Group).

Prior to H.I.G. Capital, Buck was a Director at Burch Creative Capital, a family office, where he focused on growth investments in the technology and consumer sectors and served on the board of Nihi Sumba Resorts.

Buck began his career as an investment banking analyst at JPMorgan, providing advisory services and capital structure solutions to companies across industries.

Buck earned a B.A. in History and Economics from Williams College and an M.B.A. from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania where he was a Palmer Scholar. He was also an early investor in Caviar (acquired by Square (NYSE:SQ)). Buck resides in New York with his wife.

Jason Hiller

Operating Partner

Jason Hiller

Jason Hiller is an operating partner with NorthCurrent in home services, and the CEO of Liberty Service Partners. Building his career in home services for over two decades with a primary focus on HVAC and Plumbing services, he has grown from working in the field to becoming a division vice president for American Residential Services. Through various promotions spanning multiple roles, Jason has had the opportunity to develop key leaders from within while increasing revenues by over $30mm during his tenure to achieve over $100mm in his region.

His experience includes integrating multiple acquisitions into a larger organization, and spearheading new service line additions to existing locations. Jason believes leading with a customer and employee first mindset has been the primary driver of his personal success, and his strong track record of both top and bottom line growth. Outside of his busy career in the HVAC and Plumbing field, he enjoys spending time with his family and playing baseball for his club team in his home town of Charleston, South Carolina.

Joe Clark

Operating Partner

Joe Clark

Joe Clark is the President of United Garage Door Company and an operating partner to NorthCurrent. He has spent the last fifteen years in the Garage Door industry, starting out as an installer. Joe has worked for both a family-owned garage door installation company and a national manufacturer, and has spent the last three years on the executive staff at United Garage Door Company helping to grow the business by more than fifty percent.

Joe proudly served eight years on active duty in the United States Marine Corps. Joe received his degree in Business Management from Harrison College (formerly Indiana Business College).

Joe resides in Grove City, Ohio with his wife Jamie and twin sons, Bryce and Owen.

Brad Goodwin

Operating Partner

Brad Goodwin

Brad Goodwin is an Operating Partner with NorthCurrent Partners and the President of DGD, a dealer focused on residential sales, service and installation with multiple facilities and office locations.

Brad was previously at Accenture, where he provided strategy and operations advisory services to executive teams at large privately-owned and publicly-traded companies. An expert in cost transformation, Brad led the development of several of Accenture’s offerings related to cost reduction and margin optimization.

Prior to joining Accenture, Brad held various roles in operations, marketing, and compliance with a focus in the healthcare industry.

Brad holds an MBA with a concentration in Competitive Strategy from the University of Florida, where he was a Matherly Scholar. He also earned a Master of Health Sciences from the University of Mississippi Medical Center and a BA from Millsaps College.

Outside of his role at NorthCurrent Partners, Brad recently served as an advisor to the leadership team at Wedzee, a digital marketplace startup targeting the wedding industry. Brad resides with his wife and three children in Tampa, Florida.

Chad Hopkins

Chad Hopkins

Chad is the President of Hopkins Air. In this role, he is responsible for overseeing all company operations and ensuring continued best-in-class customer service. Chad has spent his entire career in residential HVAC service, since Hopkins was founded by Chad’s father in 1988. Chad is excited to continue driving the business forward as a partner with NorthCurrent.

Chad resides in West Palm Beach, FL with his wife and children and enjoys fishing in his free time.

Nick Rossino

Nick Rossino

Nick is an Operating Partner with NorthCurrent and Head of M&A for Liberty Service Partners. He focuses on pursuing and executing new investment opportunities along with driving growth and value creation among existing portfolio companies. Before joining NorthCurrent in 2023, Nick worked at Lazard as an Investment Banker focused on M&A advisory for their Industrials team. He covered a variety of industrial sub-verticals but primarily focused on Business Services and Capital Goods.

Nick began his career as a management consultant at PwC (PricewaterhouseCoopers) in New York, where he focused on transaction integration, separation, and due diligence. After to PwC, Nick worked for Blackstone for their Tactical Opportunities fund. He supported their investment team in portfolio management focused on asset management, corporate finance, valuation, and fund analytics.

Nick earned a B.S. and M.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Drexel University and an M.B.A. from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. Nick is a die-hard Philadelphia sports fan and currently resides in Brooklyn with his wife.

Robin Keefer

Robin Keefer

Robin Keefer is the Chief Operating Officer of Tri-State Water, Power & Air and an Operating Partner to NorthCurrent. With a career at Tri-State spanning over 25 years, including work in and oversight of the service, marketing, and human resources divisions, Robin has been recognized both within Tri-State and outside of it as an outstanding leader in the home services space, including as the recipient of the Norman Hurt Spirit Award from RainSoft.

Robin resides in Cape Girardeau, Missouri, with her family. She is a mentor and developer of talent at Tri-State, including for those involved in direct sales, and is motivated not only by achieving company and organization-level growth, but the growth of individual team members.

Donny Beasley

Donny Beasley

Donny Beasley is the founder of Tri-State Water, Power & Air, and an Operating Partner to NorthCurrent. After founding Tri-State in 1992, as President and Chief Executive Officer, Donny led the company through meaningful growth over the next three decades as the company expanded to become a leading multi-state home services provider in the Midwest. Donny has always maintained a strong focus on mentoring and developing his team members, enabling individuals to achieve their career goals by succeeding in the home services industry.

​Donny resides in Cape Girardeau, Missouri with his family, and he also enjoys traveling with them to Costa Rica. Before starting his career and building a leading home services business, he received his BS in Accounting from Arkansas College. Donny is an avid golfer and engaged in his community, including serving on the Fellowship of Christian Athletes board and the advisory board of Montgomery Bank.

Jim Osborne

Jim Osborne

Jim was the former Chairman and CEO of United Garage Door Company and is now an operating partner to NorthCurrent, serving on the board of United Garage Door Company. In his twenty-five years at United Jim was the driver and chief architect of a growth-driven strategy which led to United Garage Door Company becoming one of the largest independent overhead door and door opener distributors in the Midwest. With locations in Cleveland, Columbus and Pittsburgh, United has become a market leader with a focus on customer experience and satisfaction along with developing and mentoring key personnel within the Company.

Jim lives in Chardon, Ohio with his wife, Lisa, of 46 years. Jim and Lisa have 3 children and 8 grandchildren. Prior to his career with and ownership of United Garage Door Company, Jim earned a B.A. in Economics at Ohio Wesleyan University in 1979. He then worked in management for the Kroger Company for twenty years. Jim enjoys his family, fly fishing, traveling. Jim is also a supporter of many local charities and an active member of Hambden Congregational Church.
